Dear Friends, Supporters, and Future Partners,
When I founded BrightArc, I met families in Flint and Detroit fighting for something no one should have to fight for: clean water.
Over 100,000 residents were exposed to lead, with children in Flint showing blood lead levels 2–3 times higher. This was never about scarcity. The Great Lakes hold 20% of the world’s freshwater. It was a failure of governance, where cost-cutting took precedence over public health, disproportionately impacting communities of color (56% of Flint’s residents are Black, compared to just 14% statewide).
So we began with the most urgent need, safe drinking water to those who’d been failed by broken systems.
But as we worked alongside these communities, the deeper truth emerged. A child can’t thrive on clean water alone if their school lacks resources. A parent can’t rebuild after a climate disaster without connectivity. Dignity isn’t piecemeal; it requires meeting interconnected needs.
This became our compass. Clean water, reliable technology, and access to quality education aren’t privileges, they’re the bedrock of agency. My time in emerging markets cemented a lesson that continues to guides us: lasting solutions begin with listening. Infrastructure works when it’s shaped by the wisdom of those it serves. At BrightArc, we don’t impose answers; we collaborate to amplify the resilience and ingenuity already present in every community.
Together with collaborators, we’re building systems that go beyond immediate relief. They unlock new possibilities: access to digital learning, education retention, and sustainable clean water. This is the arc we’re bending—toward equity, one community-driven step at a time.
Your belief in this work powers our momentum. Thank you for walking this path with us.
With gratitude,
